The BitVision app is the official mobile client for remote monitoring of PATRONUM cameras and NVR recorders. This guide walks you step by step from downloading the app to using all its features.
1. Download and install
The app is available free in both major stores:
- Android: Google Play → search for "BitVision"
- iOS: App Store → search for "BitVision"
After installation grant the app access to Camera (for scanning QR codes), Storage (for saving snapshots and recordings to the phone) and Notifications (for motion alerts).
2. Account registration
Open the app and tap Register. Enter email and password (min. 6 characters, mix letters and digits). A verification code will be sent to your email; enter it to complete registration.
Tip: If you have multiple cameras at different locations, you can add all devices under one account and switch between them.
3. Adding a camera or NVR
After signing in, tap + in the top corner → Add device. You have two options:
- Scan QR code (recommended) — find the QR code on the device label or in the NVR menu: Settings → Network → P2P. Just point your phone at the code.
- Manual entry — enter the device serial (Cloud ID), username (typically
admin) and password.
The device pairs over P2P within seconds — no public IP or port forwarding required.
4. Live preview
Tap the device thumbnail to open the live stream. The top toolbar has buttons for:
- 📷 Snapshot — saves the current image to phone gallery
- 🎥 Recording — records video to the phone
- 🔊 Audio — turns on the camera microphone (if available)
- 🎤 Talk — two-way audio (if speaker available)
- ⚙️ Quality — switch between HD and SD stream (slow signal ⇒ SD)
5. Recording playback
In the camera detail choose Playback. Pick a date and time and the app loads the recording from the NVR's disk. Drag on the timeline to skip in time, double-tap activates fast forward.
6. Push notifications
To activate motion or AI event alerts:
- In the app: Settings → Push notifications → enable
- In device settings: Alarm → Push → select channels
- On the phone: allow notifications for BitVision (Settings → Apps → BitVision → Notifications)
Notifications arrive within 2–5 seconds of the event.
7. Sharing cameras with family
In the device detail choose Share, enter the BitVision account email you want to share with, and set permissions (view-only / full control). The invited user receives a notification and sees the camera in their list.
Common issues
- "Device offline" — check the NVR/camera internet connection (LED on the back)
- Wrong password — default password is on the label; if you changed and forgot it, use password reset
- Notifications not arriving — verify the phone allows notifications and battery saver doesn't block the app
