Warranty

PATRONUM product warranty. 24-month statutory warranty with optional 36-month extension. Manufactured in the Czech Republic since 2007.

For PATRONUM® branded products purchased from www.patronum.eu we provide a statutory warranty of 24 months in line with Czech Civil Code (Act No. 89/2012 Coll.). We stand by our brand quality: PATRONUM has been manufactured in the Czech Republic since 2007 with more than 16,000 installations at residential and commercial customers.

1. Warranty period

  • Consumers (B2C): 24 months from receipt of goods — statutory warranty under § 2165 of the Civil Code.
  • Business buyers (B2B): 24 months from receipt of goods, unless agreed otherwise in an individual contract, quotation, or pricelist.
  • Consumable parts (rechargeable batteries, backup-power batteries, IR LEDs): 12 months.
  • Used and refurbished goods: a shortened period of 12 months (marked on the specific product).

The warranty period starts on the day the buyer receives the goods and is extended by the time during which the buyer was unable to use the goods due to a justified complaint.

2. What the warranty covers

  • Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship;
  • Defects of electronic components (processor, memory, sensor, optics);
  • Firmware and software malfunctions when used as intended;
  • Corrosion caused by faulty sealing on IP66/IP67 rated models;
  • Defects that prevent normal use or the agreed purpose (§ 2161 of the Civil Code).

3. What the warranty does NOT cover

  • Mechanical damage (drops, impact, deformation of housing);
  • Damage caused by lightning, surge, or short-circuit in the electrical network;
  • Water damage on models without IP66/IP67 certification;
  • Incorrect installation contrary to the manual (wrong wiring, unsuitable placement, use on a surface for which the device is not intended);
  • Unauthorized intervention into the device (disassembly, firmware modification, component replacement);
  • Normal wear and tear (cables, connectors, IR LEDs beyond declared MTBF hours);
  • Use of non-original accessories that caused the defect;
  • Defects arising from a missing firmware update the buyer was notified of (§ 2161a of the Civil Code).

4. Firmware updates for goods with digital features

For IP cameras, NVR/XVR recorders, security panels and other goods with firmware, we ensure the availability of agreed and security-critical updates for the duration of the warranty period (§ 2161a of the Civil Code). The buyer acknowledges that a warranty claim cannot be made for a defect that arose solely because the buyer failed to install an available firmware update within a reasonable time after being notified.

5. Filing a warranty claim

Warranty claims are governed by a separate Complaints Policy — it includes the detailed procedure, statutory 30-day resolution period, contacts, and a downloadable form. In short:

  1. Contact us at support@patronum.eu with the order number, defect description, and photos.
  2. You will receive confirmation and shipping instructions — return shipping is on us.
  3. We assess and resolve the claim no later than 30 days from receipt (repair, replacement, discount, or refund).

6. Note for business buyers (B2B)

For purchases made within a business activity, the provisions of the Civil Code on defects of goods between businesses (§ 2099 et seq.) apply. The warranty length is 24 months; consumer-protection provisions do not apply to business buyers. An individual contract, quotation, or pricelist may stipulate otherwise.
