As a seller of electrical equipment, under Czech Act No. 542/2020 Coll. on End-of-Life Products, we are obliged to provide take-back of used electrical appliances from end users. This service is completely free and is available to everyone — households and businesses alike.
1. How to dispose of electronic waste
1.1 In person at our Vlašim pickup point
You can hand in used IP cameras, NVR/XVR recorders, switches, power supplies, cables and other electrical equipment — purchased from us or from any other brand — free of charge at:
PATRONUM.eu — Vlašim pickup pointLidická 1721, 258 01 Vlašim, Czech Republic
Mon – Fri, 9:00 – 16:00 (CET)
1.2 With delivery of new goods (one-for-one)
When you order new electrical equipment from us, you can hand similar old equipment to the courier on a one-for-one basis when receiving the delivery. The exchange is free. Please note this in your order comments so we can coordinate it with the courier.
1.3 Public collection points
Small electrical equipment (under 80 cm) can be handed in for free at any municipal collection point (recycling yards, red electronic-waste containers in public spaces, electronics shops) — see elektrowin.cz or asekol.cz.
2. What happens to the electronic waste
All collected waste is handed over to an authorized collective system that ensures ecological recycling under the WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). More than 80% of the material from IT equipment can be reused — copper, aluminum, steel, plastics and rare metals from circuit boards.
3. Why not throw electronic waste in normal trash
- It contains hazardous substances — lead, cadmium, mercury, brominated flame retardants. In municipal waste they contaminate soil and groundwater;
- Legal prohibition — disposal of electronic waste in mixed waste is prohibited in the Czech Republic (Act No. 542/2020 Coll., Section 65);
- Resource waste — a discarded camera or recorder contains copper and other metals that would otherwise need to be re-mined.
4. Recycling fee (PHE)
The price of all our electrical equipment already includes a contribution to the collective system (PHE — Historic Electrical Waste Contribution). For specific products, we state the amount on the invoice or in order details. For IP cameras and recorders, this is typically EUR 0.05 – 0.20.
5. Batteries and accumulators
The same scheme applies to batteries and accumulators — you can hand them in at our pickup point, give them to the courier, or use public collection points. Batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of in mixed waste.
